Staff
Many of the staff have been at Nutkins for a long time; with their own children having attended. We have injected some new blood, in 2013, when we added Emma, from another setting, and Charlie, who had completed her training as a childcare student with us.
(On the rare occasion that a vacancy occurs; this is advertised in a wide selection of places. There is a rigorous interview process, complying with our safer recruitment policy. Identity is checked; A DBS sought, references checked, also the timeline of employment, and an induction process, followed by a probationary period).

My name is Gill Knight I first came to Nutkins as a volunteer in 1996; trained in childcare and joined the staff. Where all those years have gone I just don’t know; throughout them all I have been supported by my husband, John. My children, Claire and Matthew are both now grown up, and i'm now a granmother to Archie.

Waine
I have been associated with Nutkins since 1984 when my eldest son attended. My second son & daughter also attended and I was a regular “parent helper”. At the same time as being a swimming teacher in the city, I then obtained my level 3 qualification & undertook the running of the setting in 2002.
I learnt many new skills at the outset of the new community business in 2003; and have continued to absorb all of the new training.I oversee the running of the business aspect and the day-to-day childcare; reporting back to our Board of Directors in our bi-monthly meetings.
